From Glenn Gandelman, M.D.:My passion is to educate both individual patients and communities about heart disease. When I meet a patient for the first time I discuss not only the symptoms, risks, and medications of that individual but also the habits, diet, and environment of their friends and family. In this way, I learn about the context of my patients' lives and can offer better care. Patients should understand a doctor's plans, medication choices, and thought process. This site provides many of the bedside teaching I offer my patients in plain language. The simple act of effective and clear communication can prevent heart attacks and save lives.
